The State of Ireland (1640 – 1830)

In the some nine hundred books in English in the collection, one hundred seventy two books concern Ireland. They were published between 1643 and 1800. Around fifty of these books have been selected for the exhibition “The state of Ireland 1640-1830”. They concern political economy and economic policy. The works exhibited go from decisions regulating taxes at the time of the Civil War in England between parliamentarians and royalists (1643) to an essay concerning considerations about the country at the moment of political union (1801).
